Single-Vineyard Reserve Wines

Goldfields Chardonnay

The Goldfields is our newest Chardonnay in the Donum lineup, named after Burke's Goldfields flower, a rare flower found only in the Santa Rosa Plain near our Ten Oaks Vineyard. This wine is made from the same fruit as our Russian River Valley Chardonnay but is produced differently. Half of the wine is fermented and aged in a concrete egg for 11 months and then aged for an additional 4 months in stainless steel. The other half is fermented in the orange wine style, with the juice on the skins for about two weeks to add tannin and phenolics to the wine before being pressed and put into barrel for aging.

Donum Vineyard

Spanning nearly 200 acres, the Donum Vineyard is home to our oldest plantings, the Donum Home, our state-of-the-art production facility, and our renowned art collection, The Donum Collection. Nestled in the rolling hills that rise from the San Pablo Bay, the vineyard is divided into more than 25 distinct blocks and sub-blocks, each showcasing a diverse array of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay clones—including a proprietary Donum clone and heirloom selections. Planted between 1990 and 2022, these estate vines are meticulously farmed by Donum’s dedicated winemaking and vineyard teams.
