Single-Vineyard Reserve Wines

The Heron Chardonnay

The Heron is a wine defined by its distinctive vinification technique. The base wine for The Heron comes from the same pressing as our Carneros Estate Chardonnay, but from there, two paths diverge. While the Carneros Estate Chardonnay goes into French oak, The Heron is transferred to a concrete amphora where it is fermented and aged for up to 10 months. The wine is then transferred to stainless steel barrels to complete the aging process.

Donum Vineyard

Spanning nearly 200 acres, the Donum Vineyard is home to our oldest plantings, the Donum Home, our state-of-the-art production facility, and our renowned art collection, The Donum Collection. Nestled in the rolling hills that rise from the San Pablo Bay, the vineyard is divided into more than 25 distinct blocks and sub-blocks, each showcasing a diverse array of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay clones—including a proprietary Donum clone and heirloom selections. Planted between 1990 and 2022, these estate vines are meticulously farmed by Donum’s dedicated winemaking and vineyard teams.
